ABOUT

Queens Apartments is a stone-built, former public house dating back to the 1800s, which has been converted into three stunning, self-catering apartments by our family-run property development business; Weardale Properties Ltd.

HISTORY

The building was constructed in 1800 and formally registered as a public house in 1842. It was first named ‘The Queens Head’ in 1852. The ‘Queen’ concept has been maintained to preserve a part of the rich history.

APARTMENTS

These three tastefully appointed apartments are ideally situated in the centre of the bustling village of Stanhope in Weardale. Exuding luxury throughout, each apartment has been individually styled to provide all the comforts you could possibly want from your Durham holiday. All have contemporary kitchens with granite worktops and high-gloss units, beautifully-fitted bathrooms and spacious living areas with sumptuous sofas. The penthouse apartment has its own private balcony whilst all guests share a rear patio with furniture and a beautiful arched passageway.

SURROUNDINGS

Wonderful walks can be enjoyed from these apartments, with the Weardale Way passing through the town, or why not take a wander along the high street to the stepping stones and cross the River Wear. A short drive from Stanhope will take you to Barnard Castle, Durham, Corbridge, The Bowes Museum, High Force and Rokeby Hall, all easily reached for a day’s outing. With so much to see and do in the area, these apartments are the perfect place for friends and family to get together for a celebration or a countryside break.
